My Journey
A story of resilience through unimaginable challenges
Since March 2025, my life has been defined by a relentless fight. I have completed 14 rounds of chemotherapy and endured three biopsies on my back, underarm, and rib area. Because those results were inconclusive, I am now preparing for two more biopsies on my jawline and neck to finally get the answers needed to save my life.
The cancer is only the latest chapter in a battle that began 5 years ago. Following a trauma, I was prescribed medication that my body severely rejected. This rejection was a medical complication entirely outside of my control, triggering toxic hepatitis. This caused my liver to stop processing toxins and eventually led to the development of liver tumors.
Because of this complex history, my treatment is difficult. My hospital plan covers standard chemo, but it does not cover the specialized "toxic hepatitis" drips I need to manage the hepatitis. These drips are a medical necessity, not an option, to keep my body strong enough to survive treatment.
"I am fighting this battle at a time when my support system has been dismantled. During the Covid-19 pandemic, my family's company went into liquidation. My parents lost everything and were stripped of their independence and the ability to provide a safety net."
This has left me carrying the immense financial weight of a 5-year health crisis completely on my own. I have worked as much as physically possible to stay afloat, but the combination of life-saving medical costs and the debt incurred over these five hard years has reached a breaking point.
